Description
This study investigates the integration of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into multimodal pedagogy for English for Specific Purposes (ESP) instruction among students majoring in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) at the University of Transport Technology, Vietnam. Students from three ESP classes engaged in multimodal learning tasks, including designing technical infographics, developing annotated system architecture diagrams, and delivering presentations on topics such as autonomous vehicles, intelligent traffic management, and the Internet of Things (IoT). ChatGPT and Canva AI are employed to support content development and the visualization of technical concepts. Data are collected through classroom observations, student questionnaires, and students' learning artifacts. The study is expected to provide insights into the potential of integrating GenAI with multimodal pedagogy to enhance technical vocabulary acquisition, technical communication, and ESP instruction for engineering students.
