Description
This study focuses on analyzing the theoretical and practical basis for integrating the UNESCO’s AI competency framework (2024) into teaching academic English writing skills to students. It demonstrates that this integration is based on the high compatibility between the two frameworks in terms of objectives, structure, and development orientation for critical thinking, creativity, and academic ethics. The research also proposes a model for integrating AI and academic writing competencies to contribute to the formation of independent, creative learners with critical thinking skills and the ability to use AI responsibly, in line with UNESCO's "AI for human development" orientation. The findings suggest recommendations for curriculum design, AI competency development for students, and transparent learning assessment within the context of Vietnamese higher education.
